Flagship appointed as exclusive distributor for Marex Boats

Flagship International Yacht Brokers is pleased to announce its appointment as the exclusive Australian distributor for Marex Boats. The partnership introduces one of Scandinavia’s most respected family-cruiser builders to the Australian market under Flagship’s representation.

Founded in Norway in 1973, Marex has spent more than five decades refining the concept of the practical, well-built family motor cruiser. From its early beginnings producing compact cabin boats for Nordic waters, the company has grown into an internationally recognised builder with a 28,000 square metre production facility in Kaunas, Lithuania, and almost 11,000 square metres to expand. It employs more than 400 skilled boat builders. Today, Marex operates through an established global dealer network across Europe, Asia and North America.

Marex has built its reputation on thoughtful design and long-term usability. Each model reflects a clear Scandinavian approach: purposeful layouts, safe and practical deck design, and interiors designed for extended time on board. Rather than chasing short-term trends, the brand has focused on steady refinement over generations of boats, listening closely to owners and evolving its range accordingly.

Its current philosophy highlights being the best producer of 30- to 50-foot family boats, blending safety on board, Scandinavian aesthetics, and premium finishing. Every model is designed to make staying on board comfortable and safe for the entire family. Practicality is central to every detail: ample storage everywhere, luxury materials yet easy to maintain, and clever use of space that makes boating a true pleasure. Marex Boats’ worldwide popularity stems from their versatility in both warm and cold climates, performing equally well in rough seas and tropical conditions. Each model can transform from a fully enclosed to an open boat within minutes, thanks to Marex’s signature sliding roofs and Smart Canopy Solution. Their flexibility continues below the deck, offering a wide range of engine configurations, from single or twin installations to sterndrives, IPS, or shaft drives, making them perfectly adaptable to different waters and owner preferences. Designed for both day cruising and week-long adventures away from the marina, Marex boats also feature solar panels and impressive autonomy, supported by generous water and fuel tank capacities.

Commenting on the appointment, Marley Cutbush, said:

“Marex represents exactly the type of builder we look to partner with. The boats are refined without being overstated, practical without compromise, and clearly designed for real ownership. We see strong alignment with Australian boating families who want capability, comfort and quality in equal measure. We are very proud to represent Marex in Australia".

Espen Aalrud, CEO of Marex Boats, said:

“I’m very pleased to welcome Flagship International Yacht Brokers as our partner in Australia. It’s an exciting step for Marex,
Australia has an incredible boating culture. People spend long, meaningful time on the water with family and friends, and they expect their boats to be safe, comfortable, and ready for changing conditions. That’s exactly how we design our boats. The Marex philosophy is shaped by life along Norway’s vast and distinctive coastline, with its rocky waters and often challenging seas, in many ways very similar to Australia. I truly believe Marex will feel at home there. And with Flagship’s experience, local knowledge, and strong customer relationships, I’m confident we have the right partner to grow together.”

Flagship International Yacht Brokers will begin introducing the Marex range to Australian clients immediately, with further announcements regarding model availability and upcoming showcases to follow.
